   I have scoliosis and had complete spinal fusion about 1/2/18. You can probably see where I’m going with this, but I’m unable to ride a regular upright bike. I seem to do fine on the stationary recumbent bike as long as my torso doesn’t rock too much. A friend of mine, Kris Baker, highly recommended you to me and your shop and to see if I can even ride a recumbent bike. That’s my first worry. My other worries are the cost and size. I’m barely 5 ft tall and can easily ride a youth size bike. Like I said too, my other worry is the cost. Do you ever sell youth or used bikes? I’m in Bloomington so my first step probably to visit your shop, but I’m interested in seeing if I can ride as I’m pretty limited in what I can do.

      Hi Meghan,

      Thank you for contacting us. I can empathize with your situation… that helps drive my passion for riding trikes. Catrike makes a trike the “Pocket” that might best fit you. However, you might well riot on other trike models. A tadpole style trike offers the seat angle that helps relieve your back sensitivity. A stationary recumbent has you sitting more in an upright position … like on an upright bike which does put more stress on your back. Sean is also a one of the owners who manages the shop and can give golden insight to your search. You can test ride any of the trikes we have to help you best narrow down your options. I ride a tadpole extensively and love what it does for my physical and mental state.
